I love computers. No doubt about that.
I also love pushing my computer hardware
to
it's limits and beyond.
But my real pride
and
joy is modifying them and designing
and
building
add-on devices.

Dell 8600 Notebook CPU + GPU upgrade
My first high performance notebook was my
trusty
Dell Inspiron 8600.
It's CPU and GPU
were poorly
cooled with some sort of blue gunk.
I have no pics of
that,
but just look at the site
above, that's how I did it.
Really cool lappy cooler
My XPS Gen 2 runs hot, very hot. So hot in fact
that
a little extra
cooling couldn't hurt. The readily
available
coolers
didn't fit my
17"
beast (I mean
the notebook),
so I had to make my own.
Watercooling my whole rig
Watercooling is perfect for making your
computers
components able
to run faster
and to
make the whole
rig
more quiet.
In complexity,
I kinda overshot the
mark,
but in a good way.
X800XL extra performance mod
Everybody wants maximum performance
but
pay
nothing for it.
I'm just like that and therfore
I
volt-modded
my videocard a
wee bit to
make it work that much harder.
